(Boseman, MT) – On the eve of the 2022 Henderson NCAA Tournament, participants were once again facing what has all-to-often come to define this annual event: absolute chaos.
“I am in charge,” said Henderson NCAA Tournament Vice President for Financing, Administration, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Environmental and Social Governance Pat Henderson to a gaggle of reporters as he emerged from close-door discussions with senior executives from the Tournament’s accrediting entity, the National Association of American Basketball Bracket Tournament Officials Association of America (NAABBTOAA).
Earlier in the day, Henderson called upon Henderson NCAA Tournament President Matt Henderson to resign, and then forcibly removed him from office when he declined. Citing a litany of grievances, including rampant nepotism in the Tournament’s corporate ranks, Henderson promised to enact sweeping ethical reforms going forward. He immediately appointed his brother-in-law to oversee these reforms.
While Henderson NCAA Tournament President Matt Henderson continues to assert that he retains control, NAABBTOAA President Greg Milligan appeared at the press conference with the other Henderson to back his incursion and recognize the ousting of the former Henderson. “The corruption stops today,” Milligan bellowed through the cold and driving snow on the steps of the Boseman federal courthouse, where formal paperwork was filed by Henderson.
Fallout from the apparent coup was swift:
- Kamala Harris was ousted from her position of spokesperson, just one day after her appointment. “Frankly, we’ve seen enough,” said Henderson.
- Barry Manilow was booked for the 2022 Henderson NCAA Tournament Fall Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming – replacing longtime Tournament favorite Christopher Cross.
- All ties with the Russian Federation were severed, and Henderson NCAA Tournament Senior Director of Far-Asian Player Recruitment Vladimir “Chocolate Thunder” Mezelesky was terminated.
Henderson NCAA Tournament spokesperson Kamala Harris, asked about these latest developments and her own ouster, referred all comments to herself. She then declined comment.
