(Rochester, NY) – Despite boasting a 31-2 record, and fresh off their eighth consecutive ACC postseason tournament championship, the Henderson NCAA Tournament Board of Directors scheduled an emergency meeting, whereby they prohibited the entry of the Syracuse men’s basketball team in this year’s tournament.

“Let’s cut through the nonsense. This script was written when they changed their name from the Orangemen to the Orange. As we clearly state in our bylaws, we will not toleratekoolaide political correctness. Period.,” said Henderson Vice President for Environmental, Social, Governance, Environmental Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ESG, EJ, DEI) Patrick Henderson.

Sources indicate that tensions have risen behind the scenes in recent years. Tournament officials grew frustrated at Head Coach Jim Boeheim’s unwillingness to embrace NIL payments for his players, as well as his rejection of “Favored Booster Status” for Tony “The Ice” DeLucci, who owns multiple car dealerships in and around the Syracuse area and has long sought to provide employment opportunities to players.

“We’re done here. Time for a new coach,” said Henderson. And to top it all off, “Their new mascot isn’t even orange,” said one Tournament official.
